Lesson Plans / Science Experiments 


Elementary/Grammar School:

"They're Dancing!" Students will add foreign objects, ie. beans, rice, seeds, etc., to cups of water to learn the affect on the water and how the water affects each object.

 "Extension Idea" experiment  at the end demonstrates the affect of salt water on crops.


"Muddy Water Pollution" Students will develop an awareness of water pollution by adding water to dirt and observing the changes.

 

"Useable Water on Earth" Students use pennies to learn about the limited amount of useable water on Earth.

 

Elementary/Middle School:
"Irrigation Systems" Using pictures, the students cut out of magazines, they will learn the different types of irrigation processes.

 

Middle/High School:
"How Much Water Do We Have?" Explores the concept of reservoirs through pitchers of water and cups of water.


"Water Everywhere: Is There Enough to Drink?" This lesson plan by ActionBioscience looks at the worldwide availability of water due to landuse and population growth.
