Edwards, Colorado — On Thursday, June 1, the Colorado River District and partners at Eagle River Water & Sanitation District will host the Eagle River Valley State of the River meeting at Colorado Mountain College in Edwards, CO. State of the River events offer West Slope residents the opportunity to learn more about their water, seasonal hydrology outlooks, regional water issues impacting their communities, and how the River District is working to protect Colorado’s most precious resource.
“We’re grateful for local partners like Eagle River Water & Sanitation District for hosting State of the River events with us across our 15-county district,” said Marielle Cowdin, Director of Public Relations. “Much like our rivers, local and regional water news moves fast these days, and these events allow us to connect with West Slope constituents in person, break down the complex water issues affecting our communities, and remind attendees of the River District’s role as their voice and watchdog for all things West Slope water.”
All State of the River events are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required. The Eagle River Valley program is the ninth and final event in the 2023 State of the River series hosted by the Colorado River District. Nearly 800 people across the West Slope have already attended similar events in Montrose, Moffat, Routt, Mesa, Rio Blanco, Garfield, Grand, and Summit counties.
